We'd like to inform you about the current situation regarding COVID-19. The majority of our team is working from home office and just a few colleagues stay at the office to keep the business going.

At present, our supply chain from all over the world is still stable and we do our very best to deliver all of our customers on time. As you all know nobody can foresee how the situation will develop during the next weeks but we will keep you informed about all the changes. In some regions, we are already faced with company closings so that our logistic partners have to return the goods as there is no buffer storage. So please inform us if there are any restrictions for the receiving of goods with your company.

At Magnesia GmbH we are still available for our customers with full commitment. As a supplier for customers in the pharmaceutical and food industries, we see ourselves as a system-relevant, reliable partner even in difficult times. All divisions try to make everything possible to ensure that all orders from our customers will be delivered on the desired dates. We have another update regarding our exhibition planning for this year. The Compounding World in Essen will also be postponed. You will find the official statement as follows:

"We are writing to let you know that the plastics industry exhibitions that we had scheduled for 3-4 June at Messe Essen will now take place at the same venue on 7-8 October 2020. This announcement covers the Compounding World Expo, Plastics Extrusion World Expo, Plastics Recycling World Expo and Polymer Testing World Expo, plus their related conferences."

UPDATE to Poland

The current waiting time at the Germany / Poland borders has eased further for the time being, currently 2-4 hours

UPDATE to Slovakia

The current waiting time in the Czech Republic / Slovakia is 3-8 hours; The driving ban on Sundays and public holidays has been repealed until further notice.

UPDATE to Croatia

The current waiting time is up to 2 hours.

UPDATE to Hungary

The current waiting times Slovakia / Hungary, Romania / Hungary are about 3-5 hours; The driving ban on Sundays and public holidays has been repealed until further notice.

UPDATE to Serbia

The current waiting times for Hungary / Serbia are up to 48 hours.

Note on customs clearance in other European countries

We are receiving more and more messages that customs offices are sometimes closing or shortening their opening hours, and in some cases working from home office. So far, this mainly affects the countries: Spain, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland. Delays and waiting times can be expected.

UPDATE to Poland

The opening of additional borders relieves, the current waiting time at the borders Germany / Poland is between 6-12 hours.

UPDATE to Croatia

The current waiting time is still 5 - 8 hours.

UPDATE to Austria

The current waiting time from Italy to Austria is approx. 12 - 18 hours.

UPDATE to Serbia

The Serbian government declared a national emergency on March 15, 2020. Entry to Serbia is only permitted for Serbian citizens and foreigners with a Serbian residence permit. For these, 28 days quarantine apply when entering Germany, France, Greece, Iran, Italy, Austria, Romania, Switzerland, Slovenia and Spain from Serbia; when entering from another country, 14-day self-isolation applies. Truck drivers in international freight traffic and truck drivers in transit traffic are exempted from the entry ban, they may drive through Serbia for a period of 12 hours! If there are signs of infection, the drivers are turned away at the border and transferred to a quarantine measure.

Entry and health checks will continue to be carried out. The truck driving ban on Sundays and public holidays will not be checked until further notice.

Congestion when leaving the Czech Republic due to the closure of various border crossings → waiting time: approx. 2 hours

NOTE: Ukraine; Belarus, Russia: For your deliveries to Ukraine; For Belarus and Russia we recommend planning the delivery time to extend the minimum of 3 days!

Due to the out of routine and sometimes severely disrupted traffic flows, we have to assume across Europe that the cargo space will become scarcer by the next week at the latest. Please register your orders with us as soon as possible and inform your customers / recipients about expected delays due to extended terms. Please continue to plan your orders according to your needs, however, so as not to generate clumped deliveries and thus logistical blockages.
